My last decision

After returning home with a bag of useful skills

and a fat pocket of unique experience,

I finally understand what I like the most.

For the very first time,

I looked at a long list of Undergraduate Course Guide.

Guess what? I basically have no idea what to study.

At the beginning, I thought it will be good for me to follow my dad's career path.

But ... after a year, I changed my decision.

I've planted my interest at engineering degree.

Engineering is branched into a wide diversity of courses.

There are Aerospace, Civil, Computer Systems, Electronic, Robotic, Software and etc.

And what about me?

What do I want to study for my own sake?

After doing plenty of research through internet

and obtaining surveys from those undergraduates and postgraduates,

I think it's better to do a double major degree.

People might think that life must be hectic for students to engage in double major degree.

But it gives us several benefits.

Firstly, we can always fall back to the second option if we find out the first option is not the best.

Next, we do not have to stick to the same schedule every week.

By allowing some changes entering our University life,

things can be colourful and awesome!

Last but not least, we will certainly benefited from our future career choices.

Double major degree provides sufficient of flexibility while we are old enough to look for jobs.

For example, if I study Electrical and Mechanical Engineering,

I can choose to be an electrical engineer or a mechanical engineer.

If I find the former does not provide me any advantages

or it might not be a high pay salary job,

the later will got my back.

That's why I decided to study Chemical and Material Engineering at UQ.

UQ is no doubt a very good university as compared to other universities in Australia.

UQ is ranked as 43rd in "2010 QS World University Ranking".

And Curtin is positioned at 200+

While looking at the entry requirement of each university for Bachelor of Engineering,

UQ is the toughest uni to get in.

Fyi, I will list out the cut off score of Australian Universities in term of CPS.

Curtin : 59

UWA : 63

University of Melbourne : 65

Monash :67

University of Queensland : 70

University of Sydney : 72

See the differences?
