"Salt content in potato chips" lab exp

I had a lot of fun in chemistry class today! We were asked to grouped in pairs and to construct the experiment. Each group was working on different topic. Sally-anne and I were working on the "salt content in potato chips" lab experiment.

I should say that our topic seemed to be the easiest as compared to other groups topics. However, it was very tough! In the beginning, we have to wait for the filtration of grounded chips mixture and it was very time-consuming. Since we were doing on 3 different brands of potato chips, we waited patiently during the filtration of each brand of potato chips!

However, we were given 2 short hours to complete our practical. And we predicted that the filtration process will take half a day or more than that. John, our lecturer came and told us to transfer each filtrate to a watch glass in order to simplify the procedures. In the end, we have to clean up the remaining mixture. It was so sticky with moulds around it. The solidified pixie pinkish moulds somemore clogged the exit of funnels and they were really disgusting! The odour smelled like pungent gas which spreaded all over the lab, yikes!

Anyway, I will have my Elacs B presentation about "Tsunami in Aceh" tomorrow morning, wish me luck!
